Boston Marathoner and Hingham resident Herman Messmer, 88, didn’t start running until he was 47. Since then he hasn’t looked back. He has run the Boston Marathon three times. Messmer recently shared his love of running and stories about life on the road with residents of Allerton House in Hingham. The 7.6-mile Mt. Washington Road Race in New Hampshire is among his favorites.
