Wellness and fitness are part of our daily routine at Allerton House Assisted Living. Our life-enriching programming encourages involvement and engagement to promote physical and mental well-being. Our new Fitness Center offers residents an opportunity to exercise on state-of-the-art equipment, as well as to join wellness programs designed to be suitable for all fitness levels to maintain strength and flexibility.
Our fitness programming includes:
- New Fitness Center with ergonomic stationary bikes, recumbent elliptical, exercise balls, and free weights
- Exercise classes held six days a week and including range-of-motion activities
- Weekly classes focus on strength and resistance training
- Tai Chi classes twice a month led by a Certified Personal Trainer
- Scenic quarter-mile walking path
- Walking group that meets several times a month
Our wellness programming features:
- Registered Nurse overseeing resident care as outlined in a Personalized Care Plan
- Scheduled visits from specialists including podiatrist, ophthalmologist, and dentist
- Blood pressure clinics
- Monthly wellness clinic
- Educational programs on a range of health issues such as diabetes, heart health, fall prevention, and back pain
Promoting Physical Well-being
The Fitness Center at Allerton House in Hingham features ergonomic stationary bikes, a recumbent elliptical, exercise balls, and an array of free weights to provide residents with cardiovascular and strength-training workouts. The state-of-the-art equipment minimizes stress on bones and joints.
The Center is conveniently located on the first floor. Center staff offer classes such as cycling, weight training, and stretching. Activities are supervised, and the Center is open six days a week.
