Capturing the Moment at Allerton House in Hingham!
Welch Senior Living’s Allerton House Assisted Living Communities strive to “Capture the Moment!” That is the theme of this year’s National Assisted Living Week celebrations. Addressing the Welch luncheon crowd at the Indian Pond Country Club in Kingston, Welch Senior Living Executive Director Paul Casale, Jr. said the day-to-day hope is to “inspire our residents to seize the day.” He thanked the residents for entrusting the company with their care. Casale, Jr. acknowledged the work of the staff to create a beautiful experience for the day and a week of celebrations filled with exciting activities. Indoor Beach Party Beats the Heat!
When the temperature outside hovers near 100 degrees, the best place to celebrate a fun day at the beach is with an indoor Beach Party at Allerton House at Harbor Park in Hingham. Family and Friends Cookout!
Residents gathered at the Summer Cookout at Allerton House in Hingham with family and friends to enjoy the music and delicious summertime fare, including native corn and fresh fruit. The band Play it Again hit all the right notes during the annual event. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren of community residents eagerly signed up for face-painting.

A Runner Shares His Passion
Boston Marathoner and Hingham resident Herman Messmer, 88, didn’t start running until he was 47. Since then he hasn’t looked back. He has run the Boston Marathon three times. Messmer recently shared his love of running and stories about life on the road with residents of Allerton House in Hingham. The 7.6-mile Mt. Washington Road Race in New Hampshire is among his favorites.
Book Lovers – You’ll Love This!
Every day is a good day to read a book. Just ask residents of Allerton House in Hingham who gather regularly to discuss the books they are immersed in. Currently, the Book Club is poring over Sue Miller’s novel, The Arsonist, about a small New England town challenged by an arsonist who sets fire to the homes of summer residents.
Hingham Assisted Living Welcomes Council on Aging
Allerton House at Harbor Park recently welcomed members of the Hingham Council on Aging (COA) for a summer barbecue. The popular annual event offers great summer food, singing, fun trivia and prizes.
